Happy Halloween, Geeks
WAKE UP PEOPLE!  It's Halloween week.  Time to scare the bejeezuz out of your fantasy opponent with a scary ass lineup.  Let's dive right into this week's edition of Start 'Em, Sit 'Em.

KEVIN MOUNT

BCS Only Start:

QB: James Franklin, Missouri vs. Texas A&M:
Franklin has been a very productive option for fantasy owners in 2011. He is coming off a so-so performance against Oklahoma State, but should bounce back nicely this week against Texas A&M. The Aggies rank dead last in pass defense, allowing 335 yards per game. Expect Franklin to produce in a big way this week with both his arm and legs.

RB: Malcolm Brown, Texas vs. Kansas:
The true freshman is really putting it together and is on pace for a 1000 yard season. He had 135 yards and two scores in his last game against Oklahoma State and could easily match that this week against Kansas. The Jayhawks rush defense is embarrassingly bad, allowing 232 yards per game and 26 rushing touchdowns on the season. Expect big numbers from Brown this week.

WR: Juron Criner, Arizona vs. Washington:
Criner appears to finally be fully healthy and is starting to resemble the stud wide out most fantasy owners though him to be coming into the 2011 season. He exploded last week for 100 yards and three scores against UCLA and could do the same this week against a porous Washington secondary. The “real” Juron Criner is back!

Non BCS Start:

QB: Austin Davis, Southern Miss vs. UTEP:
Davis is a consistent fantasy performer leading a productive Southern Miss offense. He should have no problem shredding a lousy UTEP secondary this week. Expect another solid stat line from Davis in Week Nine.

RB: Kenny Turner, New Mexico State vs. Nevada:
Turner has been a nice surprise and is having a very good fantasy season. He has four straight 100 plus yard efforts under his belt and could extend that to five this week against Nevada. He is also proving to be a capable receiver out of the backfield with 27 receptions on the year. Fantasy owners could expect another game with over 100 total yards and at least one score against Nevada.

WR: Dwayne Frampton, Arkansas State vs. North Texas:
Frampton had been very good to fantasy owners all season, until putting up an absolute stinker last week with one catch for seven yards versus FIU. He should bounce back in a big way this week against a miserable North Texas pass defense that is yielding roughly 285 yards per game through the air. Frampton could easily cruise past the 100-yard threshold this week.

BCS Only Sit:

QB- Taylor Martinez, Nebraska vs. Michigan State:

Martinez will be facing a nasty Michigan State defense that could overwhelm Nebraska and bring their offense to a grinding halt. It will likely be hard for Martinez to get much going through the air and the ground attack probably won’t post big numbers either. Stay away this week.

RB- Giovani Bernard, North Carolina vs. Wake Forest:

This redshirt freshman has had a great season so far, but was hobbled by a hip injury last week and could possibly see a smaller workload than normal this week. The Wake Forest rush defense only allows 121 yards per game and could bottle up Bernard this week. Fantasy owners might be wise to wait until Bernard is fully healthy before putting him back into their starting lineups.

WR- Nick Toon, Wisconsin vs. Ohio State:
Toon came back from injury last week and was only able to manage 58 yards receiving in a loss to Michigan State. He could find it rough going again this week versus a stout Ohio State pass defense that ranks 22nd in the nation. The ceiling for Toon this week is low and a big stat line seems highly unlikely.

Non BCS Sit:

QB- Chazz Anderson, Buffalo vs. Miami Ohio:

Anderson went ballistic last week against Northern Illinois, accumulating 460 yards of total offense and four total scores. His numbers were a bit inflated as Buffalo was behind early and he was forced to throw more often than usual. Things will probably not be as rosy for Anderson this week when he faces the 13th ranked pass defense of Miami Ohio. Consider Anderson a fill in when the match up is right, which does not appear to be the case this week.

RB- Jawon Chisholm, Akron vs. Central Michigan:
This freshman had been on a tear until the last two weeks when he posted 91 total rushing yards. He didn’t start last week because of a late breaking injury, but did play and was unproductive. Fantasy owners may want to take a wait and see approach with Chisholm until it’s clear he is healthy.

WR- Bryan Burnham, Tulsa vs. SMU:
Burnham started off the season very well, but seems to be a forgotten man the past two weeks. He appears to have been passed in the pecking order by Willie Carter and is a risky play at this point. There are probably better options than Burnham going forward, so look elsewhere.

JOE ARPASI

BCS Only Start:

QB- Seth Doege, Texas Tech vs. Iowa State:
Doege has been putting up stats that have exceeded many of our preseason expectations. Now that the team’s leading rusher Eric Stephens is lost for the year due to injury, you can bet that the coaches will be putting the ball in Doege’s hands even more. When you get served a defense like Iowa State’s at home you can bet he will carve them up pretty good.

RB- Cameron Marshall, Arizona State vs. Colorado:
There a simple rule this year with Pac-12 fantasy running backs, start ‘em against Colorado! The Buffs are giving up 23 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs on the road this year. The only concern with playing Marshall will be how long he stays in the game during this expected blowout, and if quarterback Brock Osweiler will steel too many scoring opportunities with the big play through the air.

WR- Chris Givens, Wake Forest at North Carolina:
Givens has turned himself into an every-week starter in fantasy line-ups. This week’s match-up looks especially good, with North Carolina giving up 29 fantasy points to opposing receivers at home. Considering that the ground game is not very effective for Wake Forest, you can expect them to rely on the passing attack in this one.

Non BCS Start:

QB- Blaine Gautier, Louisiana-Lafayette at Middle Tennessee:
Gautier has been riding a nice little hot streak lately. Outside of a stinker against Troy, he has posted at least 24 fantasy points in each of the last five weeks. Middle Tennessee is giving up 28 fantasy points a game to opposing quarterbacks at home. This looks like the best remaining match-up on the schedule for Gautier to make some magic happen.

RB- Kenny Turner, New Mexico State vs. Nevada:
Turner has become the bell cow of the New Mexico State offense over the past four weeks, averaging 24.25 fantasy points per game. You can add a fifth game to the tear that he’s on when he faces Nevada at home. Nevada gave up 32 fantasy points to running back Robbie Rouse of Fresno State last week on their own turf, and when playing away from home Nevada is giving up an average of 26 fantasy points to opposing running backs.

WR- Cody Wilson, Central Michigan at Akron:
The Central Michigan passing game has found some momentum lately, and Wilson is making up for some of his disappointing performances from earlier in the season. Wilson will be a decent option for fantasy owners in deep leagues and in need of some help with their line-ups. Don’t expect 20 fantasy points out of Wilson, but he should reach a reliable fantasy score somewhere in the teens.

BCS Only Sit:

QB- Tyler Wilson, Arkansas at Vanderbilt:
It would have been hard to believe back in August that a match-up of the Arkansas passing game at Vanderbilt would not be a good one for Wilson. The Vandy defense is much improved this year and they are especially stingy at home. They are only giving up 7 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks at home, which is 15th best in the country. Forget Wilson’s name factor and just leave him on your bench.

RB- Dominique Whaley, Oklahoma at Kansas State:
We can expect Oklahoma to find a way to bounce back after last week’s stunning loss. But if the offense gets on track it will most likely be done through the air. Kansas State is only giving up 9 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs at home, and Whaley is coming off a week where we was slowed down by the flu. He may not be up to full speed just yet and split carries are a distinct possibility.

WR- Marqise Lee, USC vs. Stanford:
Although Lee has worked his way into becoming the #2 receiver option for the Trojans, he has been banged up lately. Robert Woods should be back to form this week, and you can expect quarterback Matt Barkley to be looking his way plenty in this one. Stanford brings lots of pressure at opposing quarterbacks, and Barkley may not have enough time to check down to another option and target Lee in this one.

Non BCS Sit:

QB- Riley Nelson BYU at TCU
:
This year’s TCU defense is not what is used to be. We have seen them get shredded in the air before this season. Although Nelson has the tools and receivers to make some noise this week, this sit prediction is based on the side of caution. The game is at TCU, and this young team has been growing as the year has progressed. If there was a good scenario for BYU to get caught in a trap game, it would be a perfect fit for this week.

RB- Lance Dunbar North Texas at Arkansas State:
Dunbar has been in a slump lately and he will be facing a stingy Arkansas State defense on the road. The Red Wolves are only giving up 6 fantasy points to opposing rushers at home this year, not a good formula for Dunbar. If Dunbar can get any decent points it will most likely be done through the air, and in garbage time, but this isn’t enough incentive to start him this week.

WR- Darius Johnson SMU at Tulsa:
Johnson missed last week’s game with Southern Miss due to a rib injury. Although he is cleared to play, it’s very difficult to predict how involved he will be in the offense. When you add in the fact he is playing on the road, it becomes starts to make more sense to take the cautious side and leave him on the bench instead of risking another bad performance this week.
