Can Moeaki stay heathy? (photo, AP)
Here is our first look at the Week 7 waiver wire report.
Steven Sheffield -Texas Tech
“Sticks” accounted for 7 TDs against K-State. If he is still out there on your waiver wire, grab him. He is worth the risk while we wait for a status update on Taylor Potts.
Ricky Dobbs - Navy
Another week, another promo for the Navy QB. Dobbs scored 4 rushing TDs on Saturday, bringing his total to a whopping 14 on the season.
Riley Skinner - Wake Forest
Skinner has thrown for over 700 yards and 7 TDs over the past two weeks. Clemson and Navy are up next.
Bryant Moniz - Hawaii
In his first start, Moniz passed for 283 yards and 2 scores. Beware Brent Rausch, though, who could see some time if he can recover from a broken finger.
Austin Dantin - Toledo
Aaron Opelt was lost to a shoulder injury, Dantin came in and threw 3 TD passes. If Opelt is out for an extended period of time, Dantin is a must-grab.
Thaddeus Lewis - Duke
Against two pretty good defenses the last two weeks (V-Tech and NC State), Lewis has thrown for over 800 yards and 7 TDs. After a bye, good matchups against Maryland and Virginia are on tap.
Lance Dunbar - North Texas
Dunbar filled in for an injured Cam Montgomery and blasted his way for 187 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Curtis Steele - Memphis
Steele went bonkers on Saturday, rushing 39 times for 240 yards and scoring 3 times. However, beware his remaining schedule which includes a BYE, Tennessee, @ Tulsa and @ Houston.
Eddie Wide - Utah
Posted 17-102-1 on Saturday with a receiving TD.
Ike Nduka - Buffalo
Rushed 24 times for 131 yards and 2 scores on Saturday.
Bernard Pierce - Temple
Toted the rock 26 times for 125 yards and 2 scores on Saturday.
DeMaundray Woolridge - Idaho
Woolridge has scored a TD in his last 5 games, and has 8 scores total on the year. Hawaii and Nevada are next on the schedule.
Jacquise Terry - Kent State
In the search to replace Eugene Jarvis, Terry has stepped up to the plate admirably. In his last three games, he’s posted 15-103-0, 12-109-1 and 18-81-2.
Brandon Minor - Michigan
Minor was impressive against a tough Iowa defense, rushing for 95 yards and 2 scores. He appears to be healthy while his primary threat for carries, Carlos Brown, is sidelined with a concussion.
Seth Smith - NM State
Smith is the team’s workhorse, logging 31, 31, and 26 carries over the past three weeks. The only problem is that he has only reached the endzone once.
Larry Caper - MIchigan State
With Glenn Winston likely out for the year, Caper could solidify himself as Sparty’s top back.
James Cleveland - Houston
Cleveland has developed into one of Case Keenum’s top targets. 25 catches over the last two weeks. He
is now a must-have.
Keith Smith - Purdue
25 grabs for 360 yards and 3 scores over the past three games.
D. Harris - ECU
Harris is a solid one week play as he faces the woeful Rice defense.
Kyle Williams - Arizona State
Caught 13 balls on Saturday, and racked up 180 total yards and a score.
Jordan White - Western Michigan
Over the past three games, White has caught 20 balls for 300 yards and 3 scores.
David Roberts - Arizona
Roberts caught 12 balls for 138 yards and a score on Saturday.
Uzoma Nwachukwu - Texas A&M
“EZ” has proven to be boom or bust since bursting onto the scene. If he can become more consistent, he’d be a fantasy star. His next four games are juicy (Kansas State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Colorado)
Taylor Wardlow - Rice
Finally starting to produce at a decent level. Posted 6-78-0 on Saturday.
Tony Moeaki - Iowa
The oft-injured Hawkeye was back in the lineup on Saturday, and was the best player on the field, posting a 6-102-2 statline.
Virgil Green (Nevada) & Brett Huffman (Duke)
Both guys don’t catch a lot of balls, but they have proven to have a knack for scoring touchdowns.
