Pocket Protector Pick of the Week:

Notre Dame (+8.5) over North Carolina
For the record, we here at The Geek are NOT Notre Dame fans.  Far from it.  But, when have a good feel for a team, we’re going to ride it as far as it will take us.  And right now, the Irish have been the darlings of our Pocket Protector Picks for two straight weeks.  Let’s see if we can make it three-for-three.  The Tar Heels are playing great ball this year, but we are surprised to see the line where it is.  This IS North Carolina, not some powerhouse program.  ND not only covers this spread, they win it outright.

Score Prediction:  Notre Dame 28-21

Oklahoma (-6) over Texas
This is the Big One of the weekend.  We do think both teams are legitimate.  Oklahoma is just a little bit better at the skill positions. 

Score Prediction:  Oklahoma 31-23

Florida (-4) over LSU
LSU has given Tebow & Company plenty of bulletin board material this week.  The game is at The Swamp.  Advantage Gators.

Score Prediction:  Florida 28-17

Missouri (-13.5) over Oklahoma State
This should be a fun one to watch.  Chase Daniel and company are at home and will be looking to make a statement against a ranked Cowboy squad.

Score Prediction:  Missouri 49-34

Wisconsin (+6) over Penn State
Penn State plays conservatively in big road games, and this certainly qualifies as a big one.  Since 2000, the Nittany Lions are 1-10 on the road versus Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan.  Look for the upset here.

Score Prediction:  Wisconsin 24-17

Michigan State (-1) over Northwestern
This a surprisingly good game, as the teams are a combined 10-1 on the season.  We think Javon Ringer will be too much for the Wildcat defense.

Score Prediction:  Michigan State 31-20

Arkansas (+19) over Auburn
Can Arkansas keep it relatively close against a suspect Auburn offense?  We think so.

Score Prediction:  Auburn 27-14

Arizona (-6) over Stanford
If the Zona passing game starts clicking, they should win this one by at least a TD.

Score Prediction:  Arizona 34-24

Tulsa (-24) over SMU
Tulsa in a another absolute blowout.

Score Prediction:  Tulsa 56-24

Idaho (+34) over Fresno State
Fresno star RB Ryan Mathews probably won’t play in this one.  We’re hoping Fresno sleepwalks its way to a victory.

Score Prediction:  Fresno State 42-14

Minnesota (+13) over Illinois
The Gopher defense is underrated.  Illinois will be coming down from a monster win in the Big House.  Look for Minny to keep it close.

Score Prediction:  Illinois 24-20

Washington State (+30.5) over Oregon State
We think Oregon State will manhandle Wazzu, but this line is too much for a conference game of two unranked teams.

Score Prediction:  Oregon State 38-13
