Each week there are players who live up to their lofty player ranking and put up a big number. And then there are those fantasy prospects who vastly under-perform.  Here they are folks, the weekend’s Champs and Chumps.

CHAMPS

Quarterback
1.  Matt Christian, New Mexico State – Christian filled in for the injured Andrew Manley just fine, ripping in-state rival New Mexico to shreds.  He passed for 296 yards and  TDs, and also rushed for 101 yards and a score.
2.  Matt Barkley, USC – Barkley set a school record against Arizona with 468 passing yards.  He also chipped in with 4 passing TDs and a rushing score.
3.  Kriss Proctor, Navy – Proctor ripped through Air Force's defense for 134 rushing yards and 3 scores.  He also had a decent day through the air, passing for 132 and a TD.

Running Backs
1.  Christine Michael, Texas A&M – Much to Cyrus Gray owners' chagrin, Michael mauled Arkansas for an incredible 32-230-3 statline.
2.  Ray Graham, Pittsburgh – Graham soaked up the Thursday night spotlight by rolling all over USF.  He toted the rock 26 times for 226 yards and a pair of scores.
3.  Montee Ball, Wisconsin – Ball welcomed Nebraska to the Big Ten with a monster performance, rushing the ball 30 times for 151 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Wide Receivers
1.  A.J. Jenkins, Illinois - In a shootout win over Northwestern, Jenkins lit it up with a dozen catches for 268 yards and 3 scores.
2.  Royce Pollard, Hawaii – The Warriors' passing game is finally starting to click, and Pollard is becoming Bryant Moniz's go-to guy.  He put up a 10-216-3 statline on La Tech on Saturday.
3.  Robert Woods, USC – After torching Arizona for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns on Saturday, Woods now has an amazing 55 catches on the young season.

Tight Ends
1.  Ryan Otten, San Jose State – This marks the second week in a row Otten makes our list.  He caught 6 balls for 112 yards and a score on Saturday against Colorado State.
2.  Coby Fleener, Stanford – So much for his concussion problem!  Fleener picked up right where he left off before getting his bell rung a few weeks ago, hauling in two more touchdown passes and tallying up 78 receiving yards.
3.  Joseph Fauria, UCLA – Fauria has been hot and cold on the season.  On Saturday, he had the hot hand once again, catching two touchdown passes against Stanford.

CHUMPS

Quarterback
1.  Kellen Moore, Boise State – Moore finally hit a bump in the road.  After stringing together three solid performances, he had a stinker.  Only 142 passing yards and 2 scores against Nevada?
2.  Brock Osweiler, Arizona State – He had been living up to our sleeper expectations in September, and his match up against Oregon State looked ripe for the picking.  But he checked in with a less-than-inspiring performance (258 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, 3 interceptions and -28 rushing yards).
3.  Taylor Martinez, Nebraska - Wisconsin gave T-Magic fits all night.  He was able to muster up 61 yards and a TD on the ground, but he threw three interceptions through the air.

Running Backs
1.  Bernard Pierce, Temple – Pierce was held out of the endzone for the first time this season.  He did rack up 102 total yards from scrimmage, but it wasn't enough to warrant his loftly ranking heading into the weekend.
2.  Vick Ballard, Mississippi State  – Only carried the ball 8 times for 23 yards against Georgia.  After a fast start, this is the third disappointing effort in a row.
3.  John White, Wisconsin – Just when we started to believe in Mr. White, he puts in a clunker.  35 rushing yards against a bad Colorado defense is not what owners were looking for.

Wide Receivers
1.  T.J. Graham, NC State – Graham was coming off 21, 22 and 34 fantasy point performances over the past few weeks, earning him the No. 12 spot on our weekly rankings.  How did he reward owners?  With a John Blutarski statlin of "Zero. Point. Zero."  What the heck happened?  He was returning kickoffs, so his shut out likely wasn't injury related?
2.  Juron Criner, Arizona - When your quarterback throws for 425 yards, and you only come up with 29 of them, you find yourself on this list.
3.  Tyler Showmaker, Boise State – Shoemaker was held out of the endzone for the first time this season.  He only caught 2 balls for 25 yards in the romp over Nevada.

Tight Ends
1. Zach Ertz, Stanford– Ertz was hurt by the return of fellow Cardinal TE Coby Fleener.  He only caught 2 balls for 22 yards in the win over UCLA.
