Did you navigate your way through the treacherous waters of Week 1 and eek out a "W"? Surviving the first few weeks of college fantasy football is the name of the game. Once the position battles begin to sort themselves out and the cupcake games are out of the way, the REAL season begins. The idea is to get there unscathed.
In order to achieve this mission, you need to keep an eye on developing situations. There were several surprising players that blew up in Week 1, and other preseason studs that flopped. How will they perform in Week 2? Was last week an anomaly, or is a trend taking shape?
Here's what to watch for in Week 2:
FRIDAY
FIU at Louisville
What to Watch: Are we looking at a true split carry situation at FIU between Darriet Perry and Kedrick Rhodes? Last week, Perry rushed for 15-94-2 and Rhodes went for 16-77-2?
Missouri at Arizona State
What to Watch: Is Mizzou QB James Franklin ready for prime time? He struggled in the opener against Miami (OH) and the Sun Devils will provide a much stiffer defensive test.
SATURDAY
Florida Atlantic at Michigan State
What to Watch: Will Edwin Baker break free from the inevitable RBBC with Le'Veon Bell and Larry Caper?
Iowa at Iowa State
What to Watch: Mr. Coker, we've got our eye on you. No more 11-41-0 nonsense.
Central Michigan at Kentucky
What to Watch: Both of these offenses sputtered in the opener. Can QB's Ryan Radcliff and Morgan Newton do anything in this one to give us a ray of hope for the future?
Mississippi State at Auburn
What to Watch: The Auburn offense got the job done in the fourth quarter last week against Utah State. But that was Utah State. How will they do against a real, live SEC defense?
Norfolk State at West Virginia
What to Watch: WVU WR Tavon Austin was invisible last week, concerning fantasy owners everywhere. Will he see more targets in Week 2? Or will Stedman Bailey cement himself as Geno Smith's top target?
Virginia Tech at East Carolina
What to Watch: ECU WR Michael Bowman returns from his suspension. How will this affect freshman Justin Hardy, who caught 11 balls for 91 yards and a TD last week.
New Mexico State at Minnesota
What to Watch: This is the perfect match up for RB Duane Bennett and QB Marqueis Gray to break out. If they can't perform well against the likes of New Mexico State, good luck down the road when the Gophers face Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
Nevada at Oregon
What to Watch: Who gets the carries for the Wolf Pack? We anticipate Mike Ball and Nick Hale will see about the same workload. Where does Lampford Mark fit in? Does he fit in?
Cal at Colorado
What to Watch: Can Colorado RB Rodney Stewart rebound from a rough 18-52-0 rushing outing last week?
Hawaii at Washington
What to Watch: Warrior WR Darius Bright makes his much-anticipated debut. Is he completely out of doghouse after serving a suspension last week?
Southern Miss at Marshall
What to Watch: USM QB Austin Davis hurt his shoulder last week, and information on the injury has been hard to come by in recent days. Does he look healthy? Over at RB, with Desmond Johnson hurt, can Kendrick Hardy carry the load?
Cincinnati at Tennessee
What to Watch: Can the Bearcat triplets of Zach Collaros, Isaiah Pead and D.J. Woods produce against quality competition?
Tulsa at Tulane
What to Watch: Who steps up as Tulsa's leading receiver? Last week's drubbing in Norman wasn't a good indicator of what to expect. Also, does Tulane RB Orleans Darkwa look fully recovered from his toe ligament injury?
South Carolina at Georgia
What to Watch: The first big SEC battle of the year should be very telling. Will stars like Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery shine? Will a new star step up in the limelight - Isaiah Crowell, perhaps?
Stony Brook at Buffalo
What to Watch: Does Buffalo RB Branden Oliver continue to get workhorse-like touches? Last week he racked up a national-best 39 touches.
Texas State at Wyoming
What to Watch: Will hot Wyoming waiver wire pickups Brett Smith and Robert Herron reward their new fantasy owners with back-to-back big performances?
New Mexico at Arkansas
What to Watch: Can the Hogs establish a running game? Ronnie Wingo did account for 94 total yards from scrimmage, but only 43 of those came via the ground.
UAB at Florida
What to Watch: Do Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps continue to be a dynamic duo for another week? Or does Trey Burton wreck the party by adding a third cog in the wheel?
BYU at Texas
What to Watch: Jake Heaps looked flat-out bad last week at Ole Miss. Can he step up his game on the road against another tough opponent? For the Longhorns, will Malcolm Brown earn more carries in Week 2?
Virginia at Indiana
What to Watch: RB Kevin Parks surprised everyone with last week's breakout performance, up-staging Perry Jones. Will we see more of the same this week in Bloomington?
Morgan State at Bowling Green
What to Watch: Kamar Jorden, where are you? Will the Falcons' start WR show up this week, or will he remain invisible?
Gardner-Webb at Ohio
What to Watch: Bobcat QB Tyler Tettleton has a sneaky good game last week, producing 28 fantasy points on the day.
Houston at North Texas
What to Watch: Will Houston WR Patrick Edwards be more involved in the passing game this week (only 1 measly catch in the opener). UNT RB Lance Dunbar had a disappointing Week 1 of his own. Can he get it going against the Cougars' porous defense?
La-Lafayette at Kent State
What to Watch: TE Ladarius Green only snagged 1 ball a week ago against Oklahoma State. The ULL coaching staff needs to do a better job of working him into the offense.
Georgia Tech at Middle Tennessee
What to Watch: Will we see any clarity in the G-Tech backfield? Last week, it was A-Back Orwin Smith who led the team in rushing. Will B-Back David Sims make a contribution this year?
UTEP at SMU
What to Watch: Will J.J. McDermott put a strangle-hold on the SMU QB job? It's still hard to fathom that June Jones benched Kyle Padron two drives into the season.
Utah at USC
What to Watch: The running backs. The Utes' John White looked strong in his first game as the starter. Over at USC, who will see the most carries between Marc Tyler, D.J. Morgan and Dillon Baxter?
UConn at Vanderbilt
What to Watch: RB D.J. Shoemate returns after missing the opener with a sprained ankle. Lyle McCombs blew up in his absence. How do the carries get divvied up?
Notre Dame at Michigan
What to Watch: Denard Robinson was a non-factor in the opener against Western Michigan. He put up huge fantasy numbers against the Irish a year ago.
