Each week there are players who live up to their lofty player ranking and put up a big number. And then there are those fantasy prospects who vastly under-perform.  Here they are folks, the weekend’s Champs and Chumps.

CHAMPS

Quarterback
1.  Chandler Harnish, Northern Illinois – Erupted for 48 fantasy points against Kansas.  Accounted for 11 touchdowns in two games.
2.  Denard Robinson, Michigan – Orchestrated a crazy comeback against Notre Dame.  Passed for 338 yards and 4 TDs, while rushing for 108 yards and another score.
3.  Darron Thomas, Oregon – Passed for 295 yards and six - count 'em - SIX touchdowns against Nevada.

Running Backs
1.  Joseph Randle, Oklahoma State – Rushed for 121 yards and 2 scores, and also caught 9 balls for 99 yards against Arizona.
2.  Lennon Creer, La Tech – Toted the rock 32 times for 177 yards and 3 scores.
3.  Branden Oliver, Buffalo – Hammered Stony Brook for 126 rushing yards and 3 TDs.

Wide Receivers
1.  Paul Richardson, Colorado - Scorched Cal for a ridiculous 11-284-2 statline.
2.  Eugene Cooper, Bowling Green – The dude has caught 10 balls on the season, and 6 of them have gone for scores.  He dropped a monster 6-134-4 bomb on Morgan State on Saturday.
3.  T.Y. Hilton, FIU –Hilton had a national breakout party on Friday night, single-handedly beating Louisville with 6 catches for 201 yards and 2 long TD receptions.

Tight Ends
1.  Jacob Pederson, Wisconsin – Quickly turning into Russell Wilson's favorite receiver.  He snagged 6 balls for 80 yards and 2 TDs against Oregon State.
2.  Coby Fleener, Stanford – All this guy did on Saturday was catch touchdowns.  Literally.  2 catches for 63 yards and 2 scores.
3.  Josh Chichester, Louisville – Caught 6 balls for 111 yards in the loss to FIU.

CHUMPS

Quarterback
1.  Dominique Davis, East Carolina – One week after racking up 31 fantasy points against a decent South Carolina defense, Davis crashed back to earth at home against Virginia Tech, mustering up 127 passing yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT.
2.  Kolton Browning, UL-Monroe - Browning is off to a horrid start to the season.  It's one thing to struggle against Florida State (4 fantasy points in Week 1), but it's quite another to be invisible against Grambling.  Browning only produced 8 fantasy points in this one.
3.  Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech – Thomas seemed like a good play against a terrible East Carolina defense.  He wasn't (9 fantasy points).  If he can't light up a squad like this, it's tough to have any fantasy confidence in him moving forward.

Running Backs
1.  Stepfan Taylor, Stanford – The Cardinal had their way with Duke on Saturday, and Taylor did chip in with 75 rushing yards, but he did not reach paydirt.
2.  James White, Wisconsin  – Montee Ball is separating himself from White as being the dominant fantasy option.  While Ball rushed for 118 yards and 2 TDs, White only accounted for 54 rushing yards and 0 scores.
3.  Antwon Bailey, Syracuse – Against an overmatched Rhode Island squad, Bailey rushed 13 times for 43 yards.  He also caught one ball for 1 measly yard.

Wide Receivers
1.  Jordan White, Western Michigan – Caught 4 balls for 67 yards early in the game and it seemed like he was on his way for a big outing.  It wasn't to be as he was invisible for the second half.
2.  Lance Lewis, East Carolina – Caught only 3 balls for 17 yards against the Hokies.  The good news?  Nobody on ECU had a good game.  It was a collective flop from the Pirates.
3.  Stedman Bailey, West Virginia - One week after looking like the WR1 for Geno Smith, he catches just 2 balls for 40 yards.

Tight Ends
1. Orson Charles, Georgia– The Bulldogs scored 42 points, and Charles didn't account for a single reception.
