Week 14 is in the books.  Which college fantasy football players stepped up for their owners?  Which ones were major flops?  We present you to the latest edition of Champs and Chumps:

Champs

1.     LaMichael James, Oregon- Just another day at the office for James as he rushed for 219 yards and 3 TDs in the Pac-12 championship game. That was his third 3 TD performance of the year and the third time he topped the 200-yard mark.

2.     Lance Dunbar, North Texas- Not a bad way for Dunbar to cap off a stellar collegiate career after a disappointing season. He topped 300 yards rushing against Middle Tennessee and added 4 TDs.

3.     Tyler Lantrip, Nevada- This performance should make him the starter over Cody Fajardo going into the bowl game, despite playing against a pitiful Idaho team. 340 yards passing and 4 TDs against any team is a good day.

4.     Montee Ball, Wisconsin- This performance in the biggest game of the year should get Ball at least to New York for the Heisman ceremony. He really has been the top running back the entire season (yes, over Trent Richardson) and he proved that once again during the game against Michigan State; 137 yards rushing 3 TDs, and 1 receiving TD

5.     Ronnie Hillman, San Diego State- This was Hillman’s seventh multi-touchdown performance and his second game in which he recorded 4 rushing touchdowns. He finished with 178 yards on the ground in the win over Fresno State.

Chumps

1.     Patrick Edwards, Houston- Yes, the final score was 49-28, but there was a lot of good defense in this game. Southern Miss, despite a few drops by the Houston receivers, really confused Keenum and that passing attack. Edwards was only able to grab 5 catches for a measly 28 yards with no scores.

2.     Kelvin Bolden, Southern Miss- Despite being the team’s top pass-catcher, Bolden was also shut down in the C-USA title game. Houston was able to limit Bolden’s opportunities, but that came at a price as other receivers were able to have big days. Bolden finished with only 2 catches for 6 yards.

3.     Landry Jones, Oklahoma- Yet another bad performance for Jones to end what could be his last season as a Sooner. This game all but wrapped up his chances at going to New York for a shot to win the Heisman. 250 yards passing with 0 TDs in the biggest game of the year just isn’t getting it done.

4.     Nick Toon, Wisconsin- Typically when Russell Wilson has 3 TD passes, you would think one would be to Toon, as Wisconsin does not have many options in the passing game. That was not the case Saturday as Toon was limited by injuries. He still was able to play most of the game but only tallied 34 yards on 3 catches.

5.     De’Anthony Thomas, Oregon- The do-it-all guy for Oregon was limited in the title game with only 17 total yards. Thomas was on a string of 8 straight games with at least one score but that ended against UCLA.
