KEVIN MOUNT

BCS Only Start:

QB: Ryan Tannehill Texas A&M vs. Kansas State: Tannehill has over 300 yards passing in three of his last four games, including a 415 yard and six touchdown performance against Baylor in Week Six. He should be salivating at the prospect of facing the lousy Kansas State pass defense which gives up over 300 yards per game. Both of these teams struggle mightily against the pass, so this could be a high scoring affair. Tannehill could have a very big afternoon.

RB: Terrance Ganaway Baylor vs. Kansas: Ganaway just tore through Missouri for 186 yards and two scores and could duplicate that against Kansas. The Kansas defense is just miserable and will likely be trounced by the Baylor rushing game led by Ganaway. Anything less than 130 and two would be considered a let down to fantasy owners this week.

WR: Marqise Lee USC vs. Washington: This freshman has turned into a great #2 receiving option for USC and a decent fantasy wide out in most formats. He has 218 receiving yards and 3 scores over his past two games. Lee could have a field day against the 113th ranked pass defense of Washington. He should be good for at least one trip to pay dirt this weekend.

Non BCS Start:

QB: AJ Graham Marshall vs. Tulsa: Graham has put together three quality fantasy games in a row, including tossing five touchdown throws last week versus UAB. Graham is also a serious rushing threat, as his 209 yards in the past three weeks attest. An extremely weak Tulsa defense should be just what Graham needs to keep his hot streak going this week. Look for a nice yardage day and between two and four total scores from Graham in Week 11.

RB: Robbie Rouse Fresno State vs. New Mexico State: Rouse is the workhorse that makes the Fresno State offense run. He is averaging 120 yards per game on the ground and around 24 carries per game. The prospects of a big day look very good for Rouse against a New Mexico team that yields almost 220 yards per game on the ground. Expect another outing with over 100 yards and a touchdown or two thrown in.

WR: Phillip Payne UNLV vs. New Mexico: Payne has scored three touchdowns over the past two weeks and could easily add to that this week versus New Mexico. The Lobos are one of the worst teams in college football and their wretched pass defense is one of the reasons. Payne should be able to find lots of open space in the New Mexico secondary this Saturday.

BCS Only Sit:

QB- Darron Thomas Oregon vs. Stanford:
Thomas has been dreadful in the past two games since returning from injury. He just doesn’t look like the same quarterback and probably cannot be counted on at this point as a #1 starting fantasy QB. He will have a huge stage to perform on this week in a showdown with Stanford, but confidence is low in his ability to post good numbers. Take a wait and see approach on Thomas this week.

RB- Henry Josey RB Missouri vs. Texas: Josey has been one of the biggest fantasy surprises this season, rushing for 1150 yards and nine scores so far. He has over 100 yards in six of his last seven games, but that might be difficult to attain this week versus Texas. The Longhorn defense is really rounding into form and is only allowing 95 yards per game. The ceiling for Josey seems lower this week than usual.

WR- Marvin McNutt Iowa vs. Michigan State:
McNutt is one of the hottest receivers in all of college fantasy football, with three straight games over 100 yards and four touchdowns. He could find the yardage and scores much harder to come by this week against a Michigan State pass defense that is the 2nd best unit in the country. McNutt could post decent numbers, but his chances of blowing up look slim this week.

Non BCS Sit:

QB- Austin Davis Southern Miss vs. UCF:
Davis has been underwhelming lately, throwing for less than 200 yards in each of the last two games. His numbers may suffer again this week against an excellent UCF pass defense that ranks 6th in the nation. This week does not look like the time for Davis to turn around his recent slump.

RB- Bobby Rainey Western Kentucky vs. LSU: Rainey is having a great fantasy season thus far, averaging 130 rushing yards per game and 12 total touchdowns. That average and those trips to the end zone could be hard to equal this week against LSU. The Tigers are quite simply nasty on defense and only allow 79 yards per game. Rainey is a stud most weeks; this however looks to be the exception.

WR- Josh Boyce TCU vs. Boise State: Boyce started out the year very strong, but has sputtered in the last three games; only averaging around 30 yards per game. Things don’t look to be turning around this week against Boise State. The Broncos have the fifth best pass defense in the country and do not allow many big plays. Sit him this week and look for a better option.

JOE ARPASI

BCS Only Start:

QB- Tajh Boyd Clemson vs. Wake Forest:
This week Boyd faces a tough match-up that has many fantasy owners debating leaving him on the bench. Wake Forest will be able to score points through the air on the Clemson defense, and although the Wake secondary is tough Boyd will be called on to keep pace in this potential shootout. As good as the secondary is, Clemson’s receivers are just better and that’s a good thing for Boyd.

RB- Perry Jones Virginia vs. Duke: Jones is coming off a big week where he racked up 149 total yards and two rushing touchdowns against Maryland. This week he hosts a Duke defense which is just as bad at stopping the run as Maryland is. Two rushing scores might be difficult to match this week, but a rushing a receiving score in what could be a high scoring affaire is not out of the question. Jones could get more receptions than normal if this does turn into a shootout, which makes him more valuable in PPR leagues.

WR- Kain Colter Northwestern vs. Rice: We’ve received lots of questions this week involving Colter. I have laced him as a start at the receiver position because in many leagues he is a dual position player. This is something that needs to be taken advantage of. It looks like Persa will play at QB, but Colter will get his snaps too. Colter will also get plenty of passes thrown his way as well as though coveted redzone carries in the wildcat package.

Non BCS Start:

QB- Cody Fajardo Nevada vs. Hawaii: The Nevada offense has gone through its transition period and its now firmly Fajardo time. The Hawaii offense is banged up and they will have a hard time sustaining drives. This will give the ball back to Fajardo more and allow the offense to wear down the Hawaii defense. Once that happens you can expect more big plays by Fajardo and company.

RB- Robert Turbin Utah State vs. San Jose State: The comeback player of the year has to be Turbin. This week he is served up a tasty treat in San Jose State. Against teams with good running backs, San Jose State is giving up 30 fantasy points per game to these rushers. This is pretty simple math. Good running back + bad rush defense = great fantasy play!

WR- LaVon Brazill Ohio at Central Michigan: Brazill is not getting enough love from the fantasy world. Over the last three weeks he has scored 32, 18, and 21 fantasy points. He travels to Central Michigan who is giving up 22 fantasy points per game at home to receivers. Be aware that Brazill plays Thursday night at 7:30pm EST, so get him in your line-up NOW!

BCS Only Sit:

QB- Taylor Martinez Nebraska at Penn State:
All allegations and media spin aside, there’s one thing you can guarantee about this week’s Penn State team; they will be foaming at the mouth to get a win for JoePa. Look for this defense to play “out of its mind” in stopping Martinez, and with a student section in a fever pitched state you can imagine more mental mistakes by Martinez as well. Consider T-Magic the main course of JoePa’s retirement dinner.

RB- Davin Meggett Maryland vs. Notre Dame: Meggett has turned into a major disappointment these last three weeks only generating a total of 22 fantasy points during that span. Now he faces an Irish defense that is giving up only 7 fantasy points per game on the road to opposing running backs. Although I stated road stats for the Irish, this game is being played on a neutral field, so Meggett will not be playing in front of a home crowd. The safest thing to do is to drop Meggett at this point in the season if you haven’t done so already.

WR- Alex Torres Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State: Darrin Moore made his return last week and registered six receptions. He lacked the big plays and scoring from the first two weeks of the season, but his play last week shows that he’s getting back to playing form. Torres’ value has been propped up by Moore’s absence. Torres still appears to be a decent play, but if we see the Moore of old you will see a major letdown by Torres. This is a cautious call to sit Torres unless you’re in a deep league and your back is against the wall.

Non BCS Sit:

QB- Blaine Gautier UL-Lafayette at Arkansas State:
The Arkansas State defense has been especially pesky this season to Sun Belt foes and it has always been safe to sit your fantasy players that are facing them. Gautier’s fantasy run has come to an end and this week’s game will be the first in his production slump (Week 12 bye and at Arizona week 13). If you already have him, drop him and move on with someone else. If you’re thinking of playing Gautier, see previous suggestion……

RB- Jamal Woodyard Southern Miss vs. Central Florida: This is a cautious sit move for Woodyard. He has been on a nice run over the last three weeks, averaging around 18 fantasy points per game. The UCF defense is giving up 20 fantasy points per game on the road to opposing rushers. But my gut thinks that Austin Davis may steal too much production in this one. If you’re in a deep league and in need of a flex player don’t be afraid of using Woodyard, but realize he does have some letdown potential this week.

WR- Lance Lewis East Carolina at UTEP: Lewis was held out of action last week due to an undisclosed foot injury. It is not likely that he will play again this week against a UTEP team that is providing a juicy match-up. Even if he does suit up at the last minute, its hard to believe he will be at full strength. Play it safe and sit him this week until more information comes out about the status of his injury.
