“Use the Force, Luke”
Here are some good-lookin’ RB matchups this weekend:
* Kendall Hunter (Iowa State) vs. Iowa State - Hunter burst onto the national spotlight last week with his dazzling performance in a loss to #1 Texas. 19 touches, 192 yards and 1 score. We think he’ll take advantage of a weak Cyclones defense and have a 30+ fantasy point performance.
* Toby Gerhart (Stanford) vs. Washington State - This one is simple. Stanford likes to feed the ball to their powerback. Wazzu is possibly the worst team in recent Pac-10 history. Gerhart should be good for 100 yards and at least 1 score.
* Glen Coffee (Alabama) vs. Arkansas State - Coffee is a little bit of a sleeper this week. If he gets his normal 17-18 carries, he’s bound to break a big one against an overmatched Arkansas State defense. We think Coffee will post over 100 yards and a score.
“These Aren’t The Droids You’re Looking For”
Don’t expect big things from these players this week.
* Illinois RB’s vs. Iowa - Many were quick to pull the waiver wire trigger on Illini RB Jason Ford a couple weeks ago after a 19-172-3 performance against Indiana. Ford followed that up with 12-42-0 against Wisky. Expect more of the same this week against a stout Iowa defense. Daniel Dufrene shouldn’t fare much better.
* Frank Summers (UNLV) vs. TCU - Frank the Tank was in in this space last week and the results were mixed. He only rushed 12 times for 31 yards, but he hit paydirt twice. That was against BYU. This week he faces off against TCU. We think he’s in for another rough week, and may not hit the endzone.
* Tarrion Adams (Tulsa) vs. Arkansas - Adams barely touched the ball last week in a win over UCF. This week, the Golden Hurricane face possibly their toughest test of the season at Arkansas. We don’t think TU will be running the ball much with Adams. They’ll likely be thowing the ball 50+ times in comeback mode.
