Great QB Matchups:

  * Joe Webb (UAB) vs. Southern Miss - Southern Miss has lost five in a row with their defense yielding an average of 36 points per game over that stretch.  Webb has rushed for exactly 300 yards and 5 TD’s over his last three games.  We think he’ll have a good outing on Saturday.
  * Trevor Vitattoe (UTEP) vs. Rice - Trevor is no stranger to this space.  He earns our #10 QB ranking this week as he squares off against Rice in a C-USA showdown.  Rice’s defense is prone to giving up gobs of points, and Vittatoe should get his share of yards and TD’s.
  * ELEVEN BIG-12 QB’s - The amount of QB talent in this conference is sickening.  The matchups seemingly every week are favorable.  This week is no different.  Start the following QB’s without question:  Harrell, McCoy, Bradford, Daniel, Freeman, Reesing, Griffin, Robinson.  Another good option is A&M’s Jerrod Johnson.  Arnaud and Ganz are also decent possibilities.  In fact, the only B-12 QB not worth consideration this week is whoever lines up under center for Colorado.  12 teams, 11 fantasy-worthy QB’s.  Unreal.

“These Aren’t The Droids You’re Looking For”
Don’t expect big things from these players this week.

  * Christian Ponder (Florida State) vs. Georgia Tech - Ponder is playing well, but the Tech defense presents problems.
  * Juice Williams (Illinois) vs. Iowa - Juice struggled last week against Wisconsin and the Iowa defense is better than what he saw out of the Badgers.  We still have Juice ranked #31, but don’t expect him to “go off” this weekend.
  * Northwestern QB vs. Minnesota - Just when C.J. Bacher started rolling, the team laid an egg against lowly Indiana.  And to make things worse, Bacher injured his hamstring in the final minutes of the game.  We’re not sure if C.J. or Kafka will get the start on Saturday, but we don’t suggest starting either one.  The Minnesota defense is for real.  And with no Tyrell Sutton to lean on, the Wildcats could be in for a long day.
