QUARTERBACKS
Rudy Carpenter, Arizona State (vs. Washington State)
Carpenter has been a huge bust this year. This might be the one week where he lights it up. Wazzu could be the worst BCS conference team in the country.
Tony Pike, Cincinnati (vs. Louisville)
Pike is playing well since returning from injury, although his stats haven’t been overly impressive. We like his matchup here against a free-falling Louisville team. He would make a nice stop-gap QB for Week 12.
Austen Arnaud, Iowa State (vs. Missouri)
Arnaud is a player who’s exploded in 3 games this year. He will be playing from behind - way behind - this week vs. Missouri. He’s the ultimate boom-and-bust player. Since a 36-point fantasy effort 3 weeks ago, he’s put up a paltry 12 and 15 points. We think he’s got one more big game in him this season. The question is whether it will be this week or Week 13 vs. Kansas State.
Tom Brandstater, Fresno State (vs. New Mexico State)
Fresno State have been hit hard by injuries to their RB’s, leaving the offense in the hands of Brandstater. His last four games have produced 21, 15, 30 and 18 fantasy point efforts.
RUNNING BACKS
Keegan Herring, Arizona State (vs. Washington State)
Herring had a nice game last week, posting 22-144-1 against a bad UW team. Now he gets to feast on another poor team from the state of Washington. I would expect 20 fantasy points again from Herring.
Nathan Austin, Tulane (vs. UAB)
Austin is filling in for fantasy superstar Andre Anderson. He has yet to truly make his mark, but last week’s 22 carries and 2 TD’s were a good sign. He’ll need to beef up his rushing yards, though, as he was only able to manage 39 last week.
Roy Helu, Nebraska (vs. Kansas State)
Nebraska claims they are going to continue their RBBC system. But Helu is tough to ignore as he’s hit the century mark in two straight games. Helu has a limited upside due to Marlon Lucky and Castille getting carries, but he is a decent play against a horrible K-State defense.
Daniel Porter, Louisiana Tech (vs. Utah State)
Porter has rushed for nearly 300 yards over the past two weeks, and has a nice matchup this week against Utah State.
Brandon Pendergrass, Wake Forest (vs. NC State)
The Josh Adams replacement had 27-110-1 last week against UVA. Assuming Adams is still out, look for a similar performance this week against a bad NC State defense.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Mike Jones, Arizona State (vs. Washington State)
Jones finally had a big game last week. You have to love his match up this week against Wazzu.
Cortez Gent, Florida Atlantic (vs. La-Lafayette)
Gent was highly touted in the preseason, but he’s been dormant for the majority of the year. He woke up in a big way a couple weeks ago and has been lights out ever since.
Seyi Ajirotutu, Fresno State (vs. New Mexico State)
Seji has been great the past three weeks with 290 yards and 4 TD’s.
Kris Adams, UTEP (vs. SMU)
We like Adams this week due to the matchup with SMU. UTEP should be able to throw it at will against the Mustangs, and Adams should have 70-90 yards and a score.
Kendall Wright, Baylor (vs. Texas A&M)
Another good week 12 matchup as Baylor faces the Aggies. You would think the Bears should be able to put up some nice passing stats in this one.
Tommy Saunders, Missouri (vs. Iowa State)
Iowa State is another B12 team without a defense. Saunders should see a good amount of balls thrown his way.
Ryan Tannehill, Texas A&M (vs. Baylor)
Tannehill is still available in most leagues. This is yet another favorable wide receiver match up in the B12.
Cole Beasley, SMU (vs. UTEP)
WIth the suspensions of superstar wideouts Emmanuel Sanders and Aldrick Robinson, Beasley now becomes one of the main targets of the Mustang passing game for its final two contests.
TIGHT ENDS
This is the same cast of characters we’ve been listing for weeks. If any of these guys are available, they would make a nice start in the playoffs.
Cody Slate, Marshall (vs. UCF)
Mike McNeill, Nebraska (vs. Kansas State)
Ryan Moya, UCLA (vs. Washington)
Kory Sperry, Colorado State (vs. New Mexico)
Garrett Graham, Wisconsin (vs. Minnesota)
Jamie McCoy, Texas A&M(vs. Baylor)
Bear Pascoe, Fresno State (vs. New Mexico State)
