Even though Week 1 isnt complete yet, we need to keep an eye on the future. Well provide two waiver wire articles each week. One on Sunday, First Look. Even though Week 1 isn't complete yet, we need to keep an eye on the future.

We'll provide two waiver wire articles each week.  One on Sunday, "First Look".  Another on Monday dubbed "Second Glance" (click here) after we've had more time to go over all of the stats from the weekend.  Below are a few players that caught Joe Arpasi's eye.

Waiver Wire Grab Bag – Week 2 First Look

QUARTERBACKS

David Isabelle, UAB

Isabelle showed us that he can be just as dangerous on the ground as 2009 QB Joe Webb. Isabelle posted 293 total yards and 4 total TDs. With upcoming games against SMU and Troy, Isabelle should be in a starting line-up over the next two weeks.

Denard Robinson, Michigan
The Michigan offense has woken up with Robinson at the helm. He had 383 total yards and 2 total TDs. Denard’s schedule looks nice with games against Notre Dame, UMass, Bowling Green, Indiana, and Michigan State.

Nick Foles, Arizona
Foles was able to put up some nice numbers in a game where the rushing attack was used more than normal. Foles had 32 completions for 360 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. His workload will only increase as Pac-10 play hits.

Jerry Davis, Buffalo
Buffalo installed the same offense Cincinnati ran in 2009. Davis made the most of a weak opponent by passing for 301 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 INT. Davis is worth stashing away, but don’t rush to start him until you see how he plays against a team with a talent level similar to a MAC team.

Dan Persa, Northwestern
Persa managed to go undrafted in several leagues. He lead his team to a road victory with 304 total yards and 3 passing TDs. Persa has nice match-ups early against Illinois State, Rice, Central Michigan, and Minnesota.

Tyler Russell, Mississippi State
All of the youth at WR has finally grown up and Miss State looked good through the air. Russell managed 256 yards and 4 TDs on only 13 completions. You might want to wait and see how he does against Auburn, LSU, and Georgia before picking him up.

Alex Carder, Western Michigan
Although his numbers weren’t great, he looked like a talented passer against a Big Ten foe. Carder had 220 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT against Michigan State. He also carried the ball 9 times for 38 yards.  With Nichols State and Toledo up next, you might not find Carder available after these games.

RUNNING BACKS

Kenjon Barner, Oregon
If no one was savvy enough to snag Barner and play him in week one, you might want to snatch him up now. Barner amassed 207 total yards and 5 total TDs. The coaches have said he will split carries with LaMichael James. Even with the split, week 3 looks nice as Oregon faces Portland State.

Andre Ellington, Clemson
Ellington managed to slip by undrafted in some leagues. Andre showed his big play ability by racking up 122 yards and 2 TDs on just 12 carries. Ellington looks to be the real deal as his explosiveness will show up again in week two as he goes up against Presbyterian.

Tre Newton, Texas
Newton makes the list based on potential. Newton had 61 yards on 18 carries for 3 TDs. Cody Johnson was the starter, but it was Newton doing all the damage. Newton will be a hot name, so snagging him noe hoping he becomes a starter is the route one would have to take with him.

J.J. Di Luigi, BYU
It was uncertain how the ground game would fare in 2010 for BYU. But Di Luigi looked the part of a prime time back with 152 total yards and 1 TD. You can expect Di Luigi to be the workhorse back for the Cougars.

Darius Willis, Indiana
Willis earn the title main RB as he ran all over Towson. Willis racked up 102 yards and 2 TDs. Willis has nice match-ups with Western Kentucky and Akron after they come off their week 2 bye.

Ed Wesley, TCU
Wesley flew under the radar on most draft days. While facing a Pac-10 defense, Wesley totaled 134 yards on 17 carries and reached the endzone once. TCU RBs are great options when they face inferior teams. With Tennessee Tech up next, Wesley should be able to turn in another quality performance in week 2.

WIDE RECEIVER

Kealoha Pilares, Hawaii
In tough match-ups, Pilares becomes the go-to guy in the Hawaii offense. He made the most of the big stage as he had 176 yards and 3 TDs on only 5 receptions. Don’t expect this type of production each week, but when Hawaii has a tough game you can count on Pilares being a top target again.

Justin Blackmon, Oklahoma State
It looks like we know who the go-to guy is in the new offense- at least in the early going. Blackmon showcased his big play ability as he racked up 125 yards and 3 TDs. Oklahoma State will only get better in the passing game, so look for Blackmon’s role in the offense to increase as Weeden improves.

DeMarco Sampson, San Diego State
Sampson told the fantasy world, “Vince Brown who?” Sampson lead all WRs with 7 catches for 179 yards and 2 TDs. San Diego State looks to be solid in the air as they didn’t miss a beat. Expect Sampson to continue to be a factor as the season continues.

Jheranie Boyd, North Carolina
In a game dominated by LSU Boyd made a name for himself by pulling in 6 receptions for 221 yards and 1 TD. We’ve been waiting for a passing game to come back to North Carolina and it looks like Boyd is the type of weapon they have been missing.

Juron Criner, Arizona
Criner has been a sleeper favorite of ours. Criner lead all Arizona WRs with 11 receptions for 187 yards and 1 TD. Look for more connections between Foles and Criner next week against The Citadel.

Leonard Hankerson, Miami-FL
The Hurricanes light it up in the air. Hankerson totaled 115 yards and 2 TDs on 6 receptions. Hankerson should be leaned on against Ohio State in week 2, but his future looks much nicer once week 4 rolls around.

Jereme Brooks, Utah
Brooks was one of the top pass targets for Utah in week one. He had only 87 yards, but scored 2 TDs. He looked good going against a Big East defense and you can expect him to look even better against Mountain West opponents.

Armand Robinson, Miami-OH
In what was expected to be a blowout, Miami-OH made a game out of a sloppy day for Florida. Robinsons was able to pull in 11 receptions for 111 yards. This was a much better than expected output for Robinson, showing that he can be a playable option even in bad match-ups.
