It was a brutal week for college football injuries, starting with LaMichael James's gruesome elbow dislocation Thursday night.  Here are some more injuries to monitor in the coming days:

Arizona wide receiver Juron Criner left Saturday's game with what is being described as a minor knee sprain.  He did not return.  Criner logged two catches for 16 yards on the day before exiting.  Criner's rough season continues.  Let's hope the injury is indeed minor and that he is back on the field soon.  Dan Buckner was Nick Foles' main target today, catching 8 balls for 144 yards and a touchdown.  When healthy, Criner is one of the elite wide receivers in the nation.

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was carted off the field after suffering an apparent leg injury.  He did not return.  The sideline reporter at the game said it is not a knee injury.  Could be an upper leg problem, possibly a hip.  Boyd is off to a tremendous start for the No. 8 Tigers, and if he misses any extensive time Clemson could be in a world of hurt.  We'll keep a close eye on this one in the coming days.

Akron tailback Jawon Chisholm, who did not start because of a foot injury, had his streak of 100-yard rushing games stopped at three. He had 43 yards on 12 carries and scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter.

Late in the third quarter, Texas Tech running back Eric Stephens took a hit from A&M linebacker Damontre Moore that bent Stephens’ knee awkwardly. After staying on the ground for several minutes, Stephens was finally carted off the field and gave the “Guns up” signal.  There are no details at this time as to the severity of the injury, but any time a player’s carted off, the chances of it not being serious can be slim.

UCLA quarterback Richard Brehaut broke his leg in Saturday's game.  It is now known how long he'll be out of action.  Kevin Prince replaced Brehaut under center.

Colorado wide receiver Paul Richardson injured his knee in practice this past week, and missed Saturday's game with Stanford.  He's also expected to miss at least the next three games.
