The former 5-star recruit absolutely blew up last week against the Illini, and I expect a repeat performance this week against the Falcons. Everyone knew he could chuck the rock, but his mobility was a nice fantasy surprise (10-39-1). This might be the last time he appears on this report as he could quickly become a no-brainer lineup decision each week.
It was tough to make heads or tails of Jacq-o last week as he was pounded by the Nittany Lions. Morgan State is up next, and they are just what the doctor ordered. Look for the Zips QB to find his WR duo of Derwyn Bowser and Andre Jones open most of the day.
I have a hard time writing anything positive about Jimmy The C, but my colleague Joe is high on the Emu this week, so we reluctantly throw him a bone.
This might seem like a no-brainer, but a few of our readers have been chirping in our Geek inbox about how this will be Mr. Pryor’s coming out party. I don’t think so.
We expect Dance to struggle for the second week in a row against a good BCS defense. The good news, Chippewa fans, is that the schedule is wide open from here until a date with BC on Halloween.
I’m a big fan of Arnaud, but not this week. I think 2 TDs is the ceiling for AA against the Hawkeyes in this rivalry game.
Polk burst onto the scene with an impressive performance against a good LSU defense. We think he continues to improve against an overmatched Vandals squad.
Harris isn’t the sexiest of selections, but the BC back rumbled for 113 yards on 15 carries last week against Northeastern. He found the endzone three times. If Harris is on your roster, now is the time to play him before he enters ACC play.
Vereen should see plenty of carries in this laugher. He and Best should both put up good fantasy statlines.
Williams had a breakout game last week in a tough one against a stiff Bama D. He got the bulk of the carries and finished with 2 TDs while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Against the Herd at home this week, Williams should continue to cement his spot as the #1 VT RB, sans Evans.
The Tar Heels defense will stifle the Huskies running game. Todman looked promising last week, but this is not the spot to plug him into your lineup.
You’d be wise to sit the big waiver wire pick up of this young season as he faces a stout Pitt defense on the road. Better days are ahead for “Thermo”.
What did Public Enemy once say, “Can’t truss it”? That’s my take on Unga these days. He’d be a great play in this one if he were healthy. But he is currently listed as the dreaded “gametime decision”. Stay away unless you have no other options.
Nunez posted a nice statline against the Wolverines last week (7-151-1), cementing himself as the No. 1 option for Tim Hiller, and justifying his preseason Top 30 WR ranking. He should have another strong outing against the Hoosiers.
Brown had a strong performance against UCLA last week (5-138-1). He should find the going easier against the Thunderbirds.
The Oft-Injured One hauled in ten passes last week against Illinois and looked every bit the star he was promised to be when he arrived on campus a couple years ago. Can he stay healthy? Who knows? But he’s healthy right now, and we advise you plug him into your lineup while he’s 100%.
I have a gut feeling that Jones is going to have a nice game against an overmatched FIU secondary. If you’re in a BCS-only league, Jones is a solid play.
With the injuries to both Bradford and Gresham, Broyles is a tough guy to rely on until we see how the Sooner passing game pans out with Landry Jones.
The wrong week to play either of these studs. Bench them unless you are low on options.
The Illini have Illinois State, then a bye week before facing Ohio State and Penn State. With Benn’s high ankle sprain being problematic, why in the world would they risk playing him? If Zook were smart (questionable), he would save him for the big games around the corner.
Middleton is our Tight End Du Jour. We saw enough out of him last week against LSU to place him directly into our Top 10 for Week 2.
After watching the Ducks last week, it’s hard to feel warm and fuzzy about anyone on the receiving end of the passing game.

RB Toben Operum (Kansas) vs UTEP
Operum is yet another youngster who got a chance in Week 1 to show what he can do. And it looks as though he could have a very bright future for the Jayhawks. Yes, Jake Sharp is the #1 RB at KU, but after putting up 79 yards and two TDs last week, I think the Jayhawks will look to even out the carries a bit more in order to keep Sharp fresh and continue to develop Operum for the long-term.
