What You Need To Know

The Tigers have a bunch of playmakers on offense in RB Charles Scott, WR Brandon LaFell, QB Jordan Jefferson and true freshman Russell Shepard.  The maturation of Jefferson this spring was the key.  He was able to hold off the hot shot Shepard and lock down the No. 1 spot.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

RB Charles Scott rushed for 1,174 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2008.  He should have another fine season in 2009.

WR Brandon LaFell caught 63 balls for 929 yards and 8 TDs last year.  He figures to be the top target in LSU’s passing game once again in 2009.

Sleeper Prospect

QB Jordan Jefferson started the final two games of the 2008 season as a true freshman, ousting Jarrett Lee from the starting job.  He looked great this spring with Lee and incoming freshman Russell Shepard pushing him hard.  Jefferson can tuck it and run - he rushed 39 times for 98 yards in his final three games of the ‘08 season.

Biggest Question Heading into August

How will the coaching staff utilize stud freshman Russell Shepard?  They have to find a way to get him on the field early and often.  Look for him to line up all over the field to create defensive match up problems.

Spring Game Hero

Jefferson was 8-of-10 for 97 yards.

Injury Report

TE Richard Dickson missed the entire spring after undergoing minor surgeries on his hand and knee.  He should be ready to play this fall.
