What You Need To Know

This spring was supposed to be where RB Caleb King separated himself from the other backs to win the No. 1 job.  It didn’t happen.  The result is a crowded list of possibilities at the RB position.  Not what fantasy owners want to hear.

Over at QB, spring ended with Joe Cox holding onto the No. 1 spot.  However, freshman Aaron Murray was very impressive and could overtake Cox in the fall if he continues to improve.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

With stars QB Matthew Stafford and RB Knowshon Moreno leaving early for the NFL, the lone solid fantasy prospect for the Dawgs is WR A.J. Green.  As a freshman, Green caught 56 balls for 963 yards and 8 touchdowns.  Look for more of the same from Green this fall, even with Joe Cox at QB instead of Stafford.

Sleeper Prospect

RB Carlton Thomas was the star of spring ball and should be a contributor this fall.

Biggest Question Heading into August

Will it be RBBC in Athens, or will one RB emerge to earn the lion’s share of carries?  Caleb King, Carlton Thomas, Richard Samuel, Dontavius Jackson and incoming freshman Washaun Ealey will all get their shot in fall practice.  We’re thinking it’ll be RBBC all the way.

Spring Game Hero

Carlton Thomas ripped off a 20-yard TD run, but other than that it was the defense that stole the show.

Injury Report

RBs Richard Samuel and Dontavius Jackson missed spring ball with injuries.  They are expected to be fine when August rolls around.
