What You Need To Know

TCU is home to one of the most ferocious defenses in the nation.  Despite losing seven starters on that side of the ball, the buzz from spring ball from the coaching staff was that the 2009 version could be stronger than last year’s stellar unit.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

WR Jimmy Young caught 59 balls for 988 yards and 5 scores in 2008.  He remains the most dangerous weapon for the TCU offense.

TCU kicker Ross Evans figures to be one of the best at his position in 2009.

RB Joseph Turner rushed for 11 TDs last fall sharing carries with Aaron Brown.  If he can stave on some talented incoming freshman, he could be in for a nice season.

But the best fantasy option for the Horned Frogs is probably their defense.  Expect them to be one of the first five defenses selected on draft day (in All-120 leagues).

Sleeper Prospect

QB Andy Dalton quietly had himself a nice 2008 season.  He rushed for 432 yards and 8 scores to go along with 2,242 passing yards and 11 TDs.

Biggest Question Heading into August

Who will tote the rock for TCU?  Aaron Brown and Joseph Turner split the load down the middle in 2008.  Brown is gone, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that Turner instantly becomes “The Man”.  The Horned Frogs are bringing in a couple of highly-touted prep stars this summer, headlined by 4-star Waymon James, who could compete for carries right away.

Spring Game Hero

Big surprise - the defense dominated.

Injury Report

Nothing major to report.
