What You Need To Know
The Rams boast an outstanding WR tandem in Dion Morton and Rashaun Greer. The problem might be getting them the ball. With Billy Farris lost to graduation, CSU is breaking in some new blood at the QB position. And it isn’t going well. Per Coach Steve Fairchild, “The fact that we’re so far away at quarterback right now is what stands out. They were just awful. I mean, it was embarrassing.”
Also of note: the team’s best fantasy prospect of 2008, RB Gartrell Johnson, has graduated.
Best Fantasy Prospect(s)
Dion Morton and Rashaun Greer are solid fantasy options - if the Rams can find a QB capable of delivering them the ball. Greer caught 63 balls for 1,114 yards and 3 scores in 2008. Morton gained 988 yards from scrimmage, and scored 12 touchdowns.
Sleeper Prospect
Whoever wins the RB job is someone to monitor. John Mosure and Leonard Mason showed flashes this spring, but the job remains wide open.
Biggest Question Heading into August
With the departure of Gartrell Johnson, the Rams head coach has major concerns at the RB position:
“We have some big concerns at running back, we haven’t had a running back play like he belongs here. I think we are further away from being where we need to be than I thought. Somebody has to prove they can do it and I’m waiting to see that.”
Spring Game Hero
Rashaun Greer scored on a 52-yard end-around and also a 44-yard pass reception.
Injury Report
Nothing major to report.
