What You Need To Know

Don’t underestimate the Rockets this year.  They have plenty of talent returning on offense (9 starters), including QB Aaron Opelt, WR Stephen Williams, and the RB tandem of DaJuane Collins and Morgan Williams.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

The RB duo of Morgan Williams and DaJuane Collins could cause fantasy owners fits this fall.  Both are capable of handling the workload of a feature back, but it is unclear how they will be utilized.  Last year, Williams rushed for 1,010 yards and 6 scores, while Collins chipped in with 700 yards and 5 scores.  If one emerges as a go-to guy, he instantly becomes a Top 30-35 fantasy threat at the RB position in All-120 leagues.

Due to the uncertainty at RB, WR Stephen Williams might be the top fantasy prospect for Toledo.  He caught 71 balls for 781 yards and 8 scores a year ago.  In 2007, the 6’5 target had a huge year (73 receptions for 1,169 yards and 7 TDs).

Sleeper Prospect

QB Aaron Opelt is due for a breakout season.  This is his senior season.  He will be leading the most experienced team in the MAC.  Don’t be surprised if he has a few monster games this fall.

Biggest Question Heading into August

The RB situation is already driving us mad.  One on hand, you have a talented youngster in Morgan Williams.  The Canton, OH native averaged 6.0 ypc in his freshman year, and appears ready to break loose.  However, senior DaJuane Collins stands in his way.  Collins had been solid throughout his Rocket career, and one would think that he will continue to get his share of carries in his swan song.  We believe that Williams, if he were to be the true feature back, would have a really big year.

Spring Game Hero

With starter Aaron Opelt sidelined with a shoulder injury, backup QB Alex Pettee went 25 of 39 for 203 yards.

Injury Report

QB Aaron Opelt suffered a shoulder injury in April and missed the spring game.  He should be fine for August camp.
