What You Need To Know
The Redhawks have a new head coach in Mike Haywood, most recently the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame. He is installing a new pro style offense which should help returning QB Daniel Raudabaugh.
Best Fantasy Prospect(s)
This was a very weak offense in 2008. The only player receiving rave reviews this spring from a fantasy-standpoint was WR Chris Givens. He had 513 receiving yards and 7 TDs a year ago. He has been identified by the coaching staff as the team’s most dangerous playmaker, and they will try to get him the ball as much as possible. He dominated the spring game, catching 9 balls for 110 yards and two scores.
Sleeper Prospect
Nobody jumps off the page. Raudabaugh only threw 8 TDs a year ago. Even if he were to double that total under the tutelage of Haywood, he isn’t a fantasy factor. RB Thomas Merriweather only rushed for 547 yards and 4 scores.
Biggest Question Heading into August
Just how much can Coach Haywood improve the offense in his first year? Chances are this rebuilding project might take a while.
Spring Game Hero
Givens caught 9 balls for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
Injury Report
Nothing major to report.
