What You Need To Know

QB Drew Willy and several veterans from the o-line depart, but there is still some serious fantasy talent on this roster. James Starks is a Top 10 running back and WR Naaman Roosevelt will crack the Top 20 at his position.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

RB James Starks is a flat out stud.  Though he missed most of three games last fall, he still managed to account for 1,700 yards of total offense and 17 touchdowns.  Expect more of the same in 2009 as the Bulls break in a new QB and lean heavily on Starks.

Naaman Roosevelt loses his veteran QB, but don’t let him slip too far on your draft boards.  He caught a whopping 104 balls for 1,402 yards and 13 touchdowns last fall.  While he won’t match those gaudy stats this time around,  he will still make a fine fantasy wide receiver.

Sleeper Prospect

How about new starting QB Zach Maynard?  All of the reports on this young man have been positive.  He adds a running dimension to the QB position, something Drew Willy did not offer.  With defenses keying on Starks and Roosevelt, Maynard could surprise in his first year as starter.

Biggest Question Heading into August

Can Maynard keep defenses honest enough to allow Starks to run free?  Opposing teams will likely stack the box trying to stop the Bulls running game.

Spring Game Hero

Roosevelt led all receivers with 5 catches for 49 yards.

Injury Report

Nothing to report.
