What You Need To Know

The Falcons have a new head coach in Dave Clawson, formerly the offensive coordinator at Tennessee.  He’ll have veteran QB Tyler Sheehan to run the offense.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

Sheehan is one of the top quarterbacks in the conference.  In 2007, he passed for nearly 3,300 yards and 23 TDs to go along with 150 rushing yards and 3 scores.  He regressed a bit last fall, passing for 2,600 yards and 20 TDs.  He did add to his rushing totals, logging 250 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Sleeper Prospect

WR Freddie Barnes is back for his senior season.  He began his career in 2006 as a triple threat, playing QB, RB and WR.  In 2007 he zeroed in on the wide receiver position and had an outstanding campaign, catching 82 balls for 962 yards and 9 scores.  Last season he battled injuries never got on track.  He could be due for another big season.

In deeper leagues, TE Jimmy Scheidler is another guy to keep an eye on.

Biggest Question Heading into August

Who will be the feature back?  Chris Dunlap, Chris Bullock and Willie Geter are all in the mix.  RBBC looks like a real possibility here.

Spring Game Hero

Dunlap rushed for 106 yards on 15 carries.  WR Ray Hutson had 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Injury Report

Nothing major to report.
