NOTRE DAME

What You Need To Know

Optimism is high in South Bend.  Very high.  Almost too high.  After all, this is a team that scratched and clawed its way to a 6-6 regular season last fall.  Sure, they pounded Hawaii in the bowl game, but…it was freaking Hawaii.  From a fantasy standpoint, all of the notable skill position players return on offense.  Is this the year Jimmy Clausen finally lives up to his hype?

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

WRs Golden Tate and Michael Floyd are both top quality fantasy prospects.  Which one to choose?  We like Floyd just a little bit more.  At 6’3 and 215 pounds, he’s a bigger target than Tate (5’11 and 195).  Floyd likely would’ve outgained Tate in 2008 had it not been for an injury that caused him to miss his last three regular season games.

Sleeper Prospect

There nothing “sleepy” about high profile QB Jimmy “The C”, so we’ll go with RB Armando Allen here in the hopes that the Irish find a running game this fall.

Biggest Question Heading into August

Will ND produce a viable fantasy RB talent?  The offensive line will need to improve, or analyzing the RB prospects will be moot.  Armando Allen leads a crowded backfield that includes Robert Hughes, James Aldridge and incoming freshman Cierre Wood.  Will it be RBBC in South Bend, or will the Irish lean on a feature back?

Spring Game Hero

RB Robert Hughes rushed 21 times for 93 yards and two scores and was named Offensive MVP.

Injury Report

No major injuries to report.
