What You Need To Know

Memphis has the players to make some waves in C-USA this fall.  The offensive line was hit hard by graduation, but all of the skill players return.

Best Fantasy Prospect(s)

RB Curtis Steele rushed for 1,223 yards and seven touchdowns last fall.  He finished the year strong with at least one score in his last five regular season games.  However, he will have to contend with Wisconsin transfer Lance Smith this fall.  Steele still projects to be the starter, but Smith could eat into his playing time.

WR Carlos Singleton returns.  He caught 103 balls for 1,500+ yards and 16 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
QB Arkelon Hall is another fantasy option, but he comes with some baggage.  He’s struggled to maintain his weight, an issue that has not gone unnoticed by the coaching staff.  Bryon Ingram and Tyler Bass could unseat the veteran signal caller if he doesn’t get his act together.  If he does focus on the task at hand, Hall could become a quality fantasy option.

Sleeper Prospect

RB Lance Smith could see some meaningful snaps this fall.  He showed some nice running ability before he transferred from Wisconsin.  He could become a very productive No. 2 RB in this offense.  And if Steele were to miss any time with injury, Smith has the talent to take the job and not look back.

Another guy to watch this fall is incoming freshman Billy Foster.  Foster has been likened to Ole Miss star Dexter McCluster, and could add yet another dimension to the Tigers offense.

Biggest Question Heading into August

Can Hall get his act together and live up to his lofty expectations?  He is surrounded by talented skill position players.  He’s in a high-scoring conference where shootouts are the norm.  The sky’s the limit for Arkelon Hall.  He just needs to buckle down, focus, and run the offense.

Spring Game Hero

WR Marcus Rucker caught four balls for 126 yards and a score.

Injury Report

Nothing major to report.
