Michigan
Year Two of the RichRod experiment began with a quest to find a quarterback. The Wolverines are pinning their hopes on true freshman Tate Forcier, whose skill set fits the mold of what RichRod is looking for.
RB Brandon Minor showed flashes of brilliance in limited time in 2008. As the starter in 2009, he should benefit from the offensive philosophy and post some very good numbers.
RB Vincent Smith made a big splash this spring. If Minor has another injury-riddled season, the 5’6 dynamo could play an important role in the offense.
Will Tate Forcier live up to the hype? Can he withstand the pounding of the Big Ten? He is the Golden Boy at the moment.
Are the days of the Wolverines churning out quality fantasy WRs over now that Rodriguez is at the helm? There are plenty of talented receivers on the two deep (Ray Roundtree, Terrance Robinson, Martavious Odoms), but can they flourish in this version of the spread offense? And can Forcier get them the ball?
Tate Forcier showed good accuracy and elusiveness in his inaugural spring game, impressing coaches and the devouted Michigan fanbase.
QB Nick Sheridan fractured a bone in his lower right leg and missed nearly all of spring practice.
