What You Need To Know
The health of Dez Bryant was the headliner this spring. He injured his knee in the Holiday Bowl loss to Oregon and underwent surgery on January 19th. He was said to be moving well with no sign of a limp, but his participation in spring practice has been very limited.
Best Fantasy Prospect(s)
The Pokes boast the “Triplets” of QB Zac Robinson, RB Keenan Hunter and Bryant. All are top notch fantasy talents. They also have one of the best fantasy kickers in the land in Dan Bailey.
Sleeper Prospect
There were hints from the coaching staff that they might try to lessen the load on Hunter in 2009. If this is the case, RB Keith Toston could become more of a fantasy factor. Toston rushed for 686 yards and 9 scores in 2008.
Another guy to keep an eye on is Justin Blackmon. He had a strong spring campaign, and could emerge as the No. 2 WR in this high-flying offense.
Biggest Question Heading into August
Other than Bryant’s health, there isn’t much question about this offense. This is a balanced attack that is going to put up a bunch of points.
Spring Game Hero
Tailback Keith Toston ran for one touchdown and threw for another with a 42-yard pass to tight end Justin Horton on a trick play. Zac Robinson went 4-for-8 for 92 yards as his Orange team beat the White team 20-15. Keenan Hunter and Dez Bryant did not play in the game.
Injury Report
Dez Bryant missed spring ball while he recovered from knee surgery. He is expected to be 100% come August.
