VIRGINIA TECH
QB Tyrod Taylor seems primed for a big year. He looked sharp this spring, and is establishing himself as a team leader. Watch out, ACC.
RB Darren Evans will certainly be one of the top rushers for the Hokies. But can he be the bell cow he was in the latter parts of 2008 with Ryan Williams waiting in the wings?
Tyrod Taylor is one to stash away on your roster in BCS-only leagues. He could come into his own by season’s end and become a viable fantasy threat.
We love RB Ryan Williams. He had an incredible spring, scoring long touchdown after long touchdown. Look for him to make an impact for the Hokies this fall.
We expect TE Greg Boone to quietly go about his business and produce decent stats. Don’t expect huge numbers from Boone, but he should produce consistently each week.
How much of a threat is Ryan Williams to Darren Evans? Will Evans get feature back carries? Or will they be 1 and 1a on the depth chart? Evans should start the season getting a good workload, but by midseason we’re not so sure.
Ryan Williams had 153 total yards. 10 carries for 85 yards, plus two catches for 66 yards - including a 56 yard TD score.
Darren Evans was banged up all spring with minor injuries to his left ankle, left knee and left calf. He was said to be wearing a walking boot. He did not play in the spring game.
