We learned, once again, the Seminoles don’t have a surefire fantasy star on the roster. QB Christian Ponder has some potential, we suppose. The RB and WR positions are pretty much up in the air.
Slim pickin’s here. With the offense struggling in recent years, the best bet might be the Seminole defense.
WR Bert Reed made some waves in Tallahassee this spring. He could emerge as one of the Seminoles’ top receiving threats.
Who will run the ball? Carlton “Ty” Jones and Jermaine Thomas are battling for the job. Jones fumbled a whopping four times in the spring game, which does not help his cause. Reminder: the Noles haven’t produced a 1,000 yard RB this decade.
The defense dominated, allowing on 59 rushing yards on 29 carries. Forcing six fumbles. Ponder went 10-19 for 119 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs.
Backup QB E.J. Manuel missed most of the spring with a compound dislocation of his right index finger (throwing hand). WR Taiwan Easterling suffered a torn left Achilles tendon at is out for the season.
