There was an awful lot of buzz surrounding young QB Sean Renfree, and he performed well this spring. However, try not to read too much into the headlines. This is still senior Thaddeus Lewis’s team.
QB Thaddeus Lewis threw for 2,100 yards and 15 TDs last year. Even with WR Eron Riley moving on, Lewis should produce at a similar level in 2009.
RB Re’quan Boyette turned some heads this spring. He has a shot to win the starting job, if he can fend off highly touted incoming freshman Desmond Scott when he arrives on campus.
Who will replace ultra productive WR Eron Riley? 5’9 sophomore-to-be Donovan Varner could help fill the void.
QB Thaddeus Lewis hit on 17 of 23 passes for 257 yards while rushing for a pair of one-yard touchdowns. His favorite target was wide receiver Donovan Varner who had six grabs for 116 yards.
Nothing major to report.
