March Madness: Top College Coaches Battle in Cage Match Tourney

Paterno and Bowden will settle it all in the ring.
Who says March Madness is only for basketball? We’ve got our own Bracketology taking place right here at CollegeFootballGeek.com.
We’ve seeded 16 college football head coaches. It’s up to you to determine who is the toughest. And by toughest, of course we mean who would win in a Cage Match battle?
The first round matchups are delicious… Paterno vs. Bowden. Mangino vs Weis. Kiffin vs. Meyer.
Here’s how it’ll work. We’ll post a new matchup every day on the Poll Question located on our home page. Check back each day to cast your vote, and see who’s advancing through the brackets. We’ll continue the tourney until only one coach is left standing.
See the brackets after the jump…
Here are the brackets. Have at it.
March 10-11
#1 - Urban Meyer “Weiner”
#16 - Lane “Foot In Mouth” Kiffin
Winner: Urban Meyer (79%)
It’s Urban vs. Rural in a precursor to the likely beatdown the Gators will put on Kiffin’s Vols next fall.
March 12-13
#9 - Bobby “Dag Gummit” Bowden
#8 - Joe “Cane of Doom” Paterno
Winner: Joe Paterno (75%)
It’s a Battle of the Ages - literally.
March 13-14
#5 - “Rich-Rod”
#12 - “Slick Rick” Neuheisel
Winner: Rick Neuheisel (53%)
Here are two guys you just can’t trust. I wouldn’t lay any money on the line in this one. The question is: who does Neuheisel have advancing on his bracket sheet?
March 14-15
#13 - “Big Game Bob” Stoops
#4 - Mike “I’m a Man, I’m 40” Gundy
Winner: Mike Gundy (83%)
The Bedlam series moves from the gridiron into the ring. Whatever you do, don’t talk bad about Gundy - he could go off.
March 15-16
#11 - Steve “The Visor” Spurrier
#6 - Mike Leach, aka “The Swashbuckler”
Winner: Mike Leach (67%)
Based on this quote, we wouldn’t be surprised if Leach brought a weapon into the ring: “I brought this sword in, this pirate sword replica and I talked about how are you gonna swing this sword. Are you gonna swing it out of control where you’re. And maybe hit a few people then they’ll hit you? Or are you gonna go like this? Or practice precisely and swing it like that. And I said they sharpen their swords, they polish their swords. Even the most derelict pirates will do that, just like you do in the weight room with your body. Your body is your sword.”
March 16-17
#14 - Les “The Hat” Miles
#3 - “Mr. Perfect” Pete Carroll
Winner: Les Miles (53%)
They can finally settle the score from the 2003 split national title.
March 17-18
#10 - Charlie “Pear Bryant” Weis
#7 - Mark “The Man-gino”
Winner: Mark Mangino (65%)
Two giants of college football, figuratively and literally, square off.
March 18-19
#15 - Jim “The Sweatervest” Tressel
#2 - Nick “The Nicktator” Saban
Winner: Nick Saban (79%)
We have a feeling The Nicktator is going to knock those nerdy little glasses right of Tress’s face.

#2 - Nick “The Nicktator” Saban
#7 - Mark “The Man-gino”
Winner: Mark Mangino (53%)
