March Madness: Top College Coaches Battle in Cage Match Tourney

image

Paterno and Bowden will settle it all in the ring.

Who says March Madness is only for basketball?  We’ve got our own Bracketology taking place right here at CollegeFootballGeek.com.

We’ve seeded 16 college football head coaches.  It’s up to you to determine who is the toughest.  And by toughest, of course we mean who would win in a Cage Match battle?

The first round matchups are delicious… Paterno vs. Bowden.  Mangino vs Weis.  Kiffin vs. Meyer.

Here’s how it’ll work.  We’ll post a new matchup every day on the Poll Question located on our home page.  Check back each day to cast your vote, and see who’s advancing through the brackets.  We’ll continue the tourney until only one coach is left standing.

See the brackets after the jump…

Here are the brackets.  Have at it.

#11 - Steve “The Visor” Spurrier
#6 - Mike Leach,  aka “The Swashbuckler”

Based on this quote, we wouldn’t be surprised if Leach brought a weapon into the ring:  “I brought this sword in, this pirate sword replica and I talked about how are you gonna swing this sword. Are you gonna swing it out of control where you’re. And maybe hit a few people then they’ll hit you? Or are you gonna go like this? Or practice precisely and swing it like that. And I said they sharpen their swords, they polish their swords. Even the most derelict pirates will do that, just like you do in the weight room with your body. Your body is your sword.”

Winner:  Mike Leach (67%)
