We're at that point in the season where Tuesday night games sneak onto the calendar. Tonight, Florida International (4-2) faces off against Arkansas State (4-2) in a Sun Belt Special.
Here are three things we'll be watching in this one:
1. Can FIU wide receiver and kick returner T.Y. Hilton take over the game? After suffering a hamstring injury in Week 3, Hilton is back to his dangerous ways. He snagged a dozen balls for 144 yards last week against Akron, while also rushing the ball twice for 17 yards.
2. Will Arkansas State QB Ryan Aplin wake up from his slumber? He's thrown more interceptions (8) than touchdowns (6) this fall. He's only rushed for one score on the year, after piling up 11 rushing TDs in 2010. Maybe we now know why the coaching staff was high on Phillip Butterfield this off-season? Aplin still has plenty of time to turn it around. But it must start now, tonight at home against a viable Sun Belt contender.
3. Who will FIU rely on in the running game: Kedrick Rhodes or Darriet Perry? Or both? Rhodes has 516 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year, while Perry has racked up 318 yards and 5 scores.
If you're into Sun Belt football, this should be a good one. The game will be televised on ESPN2 at 8:00pm ET.
