Fantasy Buffet - Week 9 Games to Watch
There is a good one brewing in the Pac-10 (photo, IconSMI)
CFG contributor Marcus Martin takes a look at the Week 9 games that have major college fantasy football implications.
North Carolina State @ Florida State, Saturday, 12:00 PM EST
North Carolina State: Russell Wilson, Toney Baker, Jarvis Williams and George Bryan.
Watch for….QB Russell Wilson. FSU is ranked 11th in the conference in pass defense. Wilson should be able to hang 250 and 2-3 TD’s on the Noles.
Florida State: Christian Ponder, Bert Reed, Rod Owens and Beau Reliford.
Watch for….WR Rod Owens. When Ponder needs a big play Owens seems to be the guy he is looking for. Big game last week. Let’s see if he can keep it going.Bottom Line: FSU is scoring plenty of points this year and it won’t stop this week. NC State has the horses to keep up and will make this a fun shootout.
Southern Miss @ Houston, Saturday, 1:00 PM EST
Southern Miss: Martevious Young, Damion Fletcher and DeAndre Brown.
Watch for….RB Damion Fletcher. Am I the only that is waiting for that “wow” game from Fletcher. This could be the game. 150 yds and 3 TD’s aren’t out of the question.Houston: Case Keenum, Bryce Beall, Charles Sims, Tyron Carrier and Patrick Edwards.
Watch for….RB Charles Sims. Coach Sumlin said this kid was talented. Nobody knew how much. His emergence is not good news for Beall owners.Bottom Line: Fireworks in Houston. Southern Miss has one of the few offenses in C-USA who has a chance of keeping up with the Cougars. Total Points? I say 80!
Western Michigan @ Kent State, Saturday, 2:00 PM EST
Western Michigan: Tim Hiller, Brandon West, Juan Nunez and Robert Arnheim.
Watch for….WR Robert Arnheim. After a slow start, Robert has gone 100 yards in consecutive weeks. Look for more of the same this week .Kent State: Spencer Keith, Jacquise Terry and Tyshon Goode.
Watch for….RB Jacquise Terry. WMU is giving up 185 yards a game (102nd nationally). Terry could be in for a big day as Kent State tries to play keep away.Bottom Line: This is your under the radar special for the week. The MAC always seems to give us some fun shootouts. Not much D in this one.
Middle Tennessee State @ Florida Atlantic, Saturday, 4:00 PM EST
Middle Tennessee State: Dwight Dasher, Chris McClover and Harold Turner, Jr.
Watch for….WR Harold Turner, Jr.. Caught 6 balls last week for 113 yds and 2 TD’s. Has only played in the last 2 games.
Florida Atlantic: Rusty Smith, Alfred Morris, Chris Bonner and Jason Harmon.
Watch for….RB Alfred Morris. One of the hottest backs in the country faces the 87th ranked rush defense (185 yards a game). Uh-oh! This could get ugly.USC @ Oregon, Saturday, 8:00 PM EST
USC: Matt Barkley, Joe McKnight, Allen Bradford, Damian Williams and Ronald Johnson.
Watch for…..QB Matt Barkley. His biggest statistical games have come on the road. I think he has another big game. 300 yds and 3 TD’s seem about right.
Oregon: Jeremiah Masoli, LaMichael James and Ed Dickson.
Watch for…..The wide receivers. D.J Davis must step up and be a reliable target. With a offense like the Ducks have the tight end should not be your leading receiver!!!
Bottom Line: For some reason the Trojans have decided that they want to win shootouts the last 2 weeks. The Ducks have enough explosive players to make this a wild one.
