CFG Injury Report - Week 2

Injuries Quarterbacks Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) Whats the scoop?Bradford suffered a sprained shoulder against BYU. He is not expected to need surgery, and could miss anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Or longer. Lyle Moevao (Oregon State) Whats the scoop?Moevao is still recovering from shoulder injury that caused him to miss the opener. He has lost his startin











Injuries


Quarterbacks

Sam Bradford (Oklahoma)

What’s the scoop?Bradford suffered a sprained shoulder against BYU.  He is not expected to need surgery, and could miss anywhere from 2-4 weeks.  Or longer.

Lyle Moevao (Oregon State)

What’s the scoop?Moevao is still recovering from shoulder injury that caused him to miss the opener.  He has lost his starting job to Sean Canfield and is doubtful to suit up next week against UNLV.

Running Backs

Harvey Unga (BYU)

What’s the scoop?Unga has been nursing a hamstring injury and has missed some practice time.  He was considered probable for the opener, but did not enter the game.  His status moving forward is up in the air.

Brandon Minor (Michigan)

What’s the scoop?  Minor missed the opener with an ankle injury, but is considerd probably this week against Notre Dame.

Marc Ingram (Alabama)

What’s the scoop?  Ingram suffered a bruised knee at the end of the Virginia Tech game.  He is not expected to miss practice time and should play against FIU this weekend.

Baron Batch (Texas Tech)

What’s the scoop?  Batch played in the opener, carrying the ball 9 times and catching one ball.  We’re still not sure how close he is to 100% with his elbow injury, but this has to be considered good news.

C.J. Spiller (Clemson)

What’s the scoop?  Spiller left the opener in the first half with an apparent hamstring injury.  He did not miss practice time on Sunday and is considered probable for Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.

Kordell Young (Rutgers)

What’s the scoop?  Young missed the opener as he continues to recover from a knee injury.  He is considered doubtful for this week against Howard leaving the door open for Joe Martinek to continue to get the majority of carries.

De’Vion Moore (Missouri)

What’s the scoop?  Moore injured his ankle in the opener and is unlikely to play this week against Bowling Green.  This could be good news for Derrick Washington owners as Moore was a minor threat to steal carries.

Anthony Dixon (Mississippi State)

What’s the scoop?  Dixon served a one game suspension in the opener for a DUI charge over the summer.  He is likely to play on Saturday against Auburn.

Wide Receivers

DeAndre Brown (Southern Miss)

What’s the scoop? Brown missed the opener as he continues his recovery from a broken leg.  His status for the upcoming game against Central Florida is unknown at this time.

Dezmon Briscoe (Kansas)

What’s the scoop? Briscoe missed the opener due to a suspension from transgressions back in the spring.  He is expected to play this week against UTEP.

Arrelious Benn (Illinois)

What’s the scoop? Benn left the first half of the opener with an ankle injury.  He is expected to play this Saturday against Illinois State.

Dwight Jones (North Carolina)

What’s the scoop? Jones is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

Andre Debose (Florida)

What’s the scoop? Debose is having season-ending surgery to repair a torn hamstring.

Jermaine Gresham (Oklahoma)

What’s the scoop? Gresham is expecting to have season-ending knee surgery today.

Rob Gronkowski (Arizona)

What’s the scoop? Gronk missed the opener due to his back injury.  He is not expected to play this week against Northern Arizona.

Madaris Grant (Ball State)

What’s the scoop? Grant tore his ACL in the opener and is out for the year.
