ARIZONA STATE QBs
The Participants : Steven Threet, Brock Osweiler, Samson Szakacsy
The Skinny : Samson Szakacsy missed the spring while recovering from a shoulder surgery and missed time in the early fall due to arm fatigue. These things prompted the coaching staff to narrow the position battle down to Threet and Osweiler. Threet has been gaining ground this fall, and a starter could be named as early as next week.

COLORADO STATE RBs
The Participants : Raymond Carter, Leonard Mason, John Mosure
The Skinny : Raymond Carter has been able to solidify the starter RB job. The competition was “sloppy” at best, and Carter winning the job might have more to do with poor competition than anything else.

EAST CAROLINA QBs
The Participants : Rio Johnson, Dominique Davis, Brad Wornick
The Skinny : After the first scrimmage no QB was able to pull away from the pack. Davis and Wornick had 18-19 attempts while Johnson had 28 attempts.

IOWA RBs
The Participants : Adam Robinson, Brandon Wegher, Jewel Hampton
The Skinny : Brandon Wegher has left team camp to attend to personal matters. In his absence, Hampton has taken a slow start and picked up steam as camp has played out. Robinson is still in the mix since he held a slight lead heading into fall camp.

KANSAS QBs
The Participants : Kale Pick, Jordan Webb, Quinn Mecham
The Skinny : Kale Pick has officially been named the starter in Lawrence. Not much fantasy impact here since Kansas is a year away from a QB having real fantasy value.

KANSAS RBs
The Participants : Toben Opurum, Angus Quigley, Deshaun Sands
The Skinny : 2009 starter Toben Opurum has officially been moved to linebacker, clearing the way for Angus Quigley to be the starter. Deshaun Sands brings enough playmaking ability to the table to eat into Quigley’s overall workload.

LOUISIANA TECH QBs
The Participants : Ross Jenkins, Steven Ensminger
The Skinny : Steven Ensminger exited spring camp with a lead in the race, but it only took a week for the coaches to name Ensminger as the official starter.

MARSHALL QBs
The Participants : Willie Korn, Brian Anderson
The Skinny : Korn transferred into Marshall from Clemson and many people expected to take over the starting job. What we didn’t expect was to see Korn moved to defensive back. This has prompted Korn to look to transfer yet again to Division II North Greenville.
The Winner : Brian Anderson

MISSOURI "Z" WR
The Participants : Wes Kemp, Jaleel Clark
The Skinny : Wes Kemp was expected to be the starter at the Z-WR spot but his sub-par play has allowed Jaleel Clark to pull neck and neck with Kemp.

OREGON QBs
The Participants : Darron Thomas, Nate Costa
The Skinny : Fall camp has shown a back and forth competition. Thomas grabbed the early lead but Costa has pulled pack to neck and neck. The coaches are continuing to evenly split the reps with the first offense between both QBs.

SOUTH CAROLINA QBs
The Participants : Stephen Garcia, Connor Shaw
The Skinny : Spurrier has been unhappy with the play of 2009 starter Garcia since spring camp and opened the door for freshman Shaw to compete. Now Spurrier has opened the door to both QBs splitting reps in the season opener.

SOUTHERN MISS QBs
The Participants : Austin Davis, Martevious Young
The Skinny : Austin Davis has returned from injury and is playing like he did before his injury. More impressive than his physical play is that Davis’ mental game shows no signs of rust. Young is not receiving the same workload and doesn’t appear to be as sharp as Davis has been.

STANFORD RBs
The Participants : Stepfan Taylor, Jeremy Stewart, Anthony Wilkerson
The Skinny : Although there is little news coming out of Cardinal camp, it appears Stewart might be in the lead due to his ability in pass protection. This one still has a ways to go though so stay tuned.

TEXAS TECH QBs
The Participants : Steven Sheffield, Taylor Potts
The Skinny : After the first scrimmage Potts was able to pull away in the competition. With the next scrimmage occurring on Saturday, the coaches plan on naming the starter on Sunday or Monday.

UNLV QBs
The Participants : Omar Clayton, Mike Clausen
The Skinny : Clayton has been dominating the amount of snaps, then Clausen suffered an ankle injury and hasn’t been able to play. Despite the injury, this jobs looks to be Clayton’s.

USC RBs
The Participants : Allen Bradford, Dillion Baxter
The Skinny : Head coach Lane Kiffin stated to the press that he wants to go to a two tailback rotation this fall.  This is not good news for Allen Bradford’s fantasy value. With the talented Dillion Baxter getting tons of love from the coaches he could eat heavily into many people’s projections for Bradford.
