Please note, these rankings are not based on opinion.  The players are sorted purely on their 2008 average points scored per game played.  Here is a brief explanation to help you further analyze the data:

Schedule column - I segmented the season into different blocks to see where each player performed at a high level of production. The column has a 1, 2, 3, P1, or P2 in it. The first three numbers represent a four week block of the regular season, while the P’s are the playoff rounds (“P1”=semi’s, “P2”=finals).  For example, a player that has a “1, 3” in the Schedule column performed at a high level in weeks 1-4 and 9-12.

System column - At the bottom of each position chart is the statistical standard used to determine if that player is in an offensive system that will aid to his ability to produce fantasy points.  An “X” in that columns means they are in a friendly system.  For QB’s only, an “R” means they are in a system where the QB has ability to rush for big yards.

Point scoring system used:

Passing:

- Completions: 0.10
- Yards: 0.05
- TD: 4
- INT: -2

Rushing/Receiving:

- Yards: 0.10
- Completions: 0.10
- TD: 6

So use this information well, and be sure to wait until the proper time to reach for that sleeper next draft!  Click the link below to access the Dawfather’s Top Returning Players spreadsheet:
