Roy Helu Jr. was a solid fantasy contributor for most of the 2009 season but his swoon at the end of the year leads to concern for the upcoming year. The Nebraska offense as a whole struggled to move the ball with any consistency down the stretch and Helu found himself losing a chunk of his carries to freshman, Rex Burkhead. With the Huskers appearing to be committed to running the football often in 2010, the division of carries will be a hot topic going into this fantasy season. How the Nebraska RB situation will pan out is a key question that many owners will be looking to answer.

Miami quarterback Jacory Harris

Jacory Harris was a Heisman candidate during the 2009 season, and going into 2010 he has become a frontrunner for the hardware. Miami returns many pieces for the 2010 season and there are ACC title hopes in Coral Gables.

But the Canes have not been able to live up to their lofty expectations during the last several seasons. Will the play of Jacory Harris elevate the Canes’ season, and will we see Harris raising the Heisman trophy by the end of the season?

The expectations for Kendall “Spud” Hunter were huge entering the 2009 college football season, but unfortunately things did not turn out as planned. The numbers took a huge hit as Hunter went from a top tier fantasy running back to a non- factor for the majority of the 2009 campaign. What happened and can he return to his exceptional form of 2008, we’ll discuss that right after the jump.

It has been one very busy offseason in college football. The coaching carousel was in overdrive, as we saw the ouster, relocation, hiring, and firing of more than 20 coaches before the dust began to settle.  Some of the hirings were performance-based, while others eschewed in a total change in the philosophy of how a team approaches its game plan on Saturday.

We’ve heard plenty about the record-setting recruiting classes of the already-rich schools. Evidently, Florida and USC will play each other for the national championship for the next four years. Book your flights now, baby! But what about those forgotten recruiting classes? The ones that came in with little fanfare, that are stocked with undiscovered gems, or that just fell behind the bookshelf until Kirk Ferentz’s mother came through to vacuum his one-bedroom apartment?
